Å?eba (-Polish; Kashubian/Pomeranian: Leba; German: Lebamünde) is a town around Middle Pomerania, Poland, located touching Å?ebsko lake and the mouth of the Å?eba River at the coast of Baltic sea.
History
A cash settlement of Å?eba was 1st mentioned within 1282. At that period a village was placed astir deuce kilometers west from either a present mouth of the Å?eba Flow of any stream. Å?eba received municipal rights in the month 1357. Å?ebthe developed to the camping port & a wood marketplace.
Å?eba was threatened for numerous centuries by floods & expanding sand dunes. When 1558 Å?ebthe was rebuilt in a safer location. In the 18th century a large port was rest on instruction of the Prussian king. In a course of a harbor construction the 34 meter wide channel between the Å?ebsko flow of any stream & the Baltic Sea was dug.
In the proximity of Å?eba there is a big touching metropolitan area for long-range rocket weapons. On this locality a German long-range rocket Rheinbote was tested between 1941 and 1945. Too a V-1 flying bomb was tested here from either 1943 to 1945. Between 1963 and 1973 33 Polish sounding rockets of the type Meteor were launched inside Å?eba (http://www.astronautix.com/sites/leba.htm). Allegedly, a German general Erwin Rommel practiced desert warfare in the huge sand dune of Å?eba.

When World War I Å?eba became a popular resort for German bohemians. Max Pechstein and other expressionists frequented the place.
